A 21-year-old woman in Stepnogorsk is suspected of stealing a car and crashing it while intoxicated, according to infohub.kz.
Police determined that the woman spent Friday evening drinking with acquaintances. She then took the owner's Chevrolet Lacetti without permission and drove off.
While intoxicated, she lost control of the vehicle, created an emergency situation, and collided with two cars. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. The stolen foreign car sustained mechanical damage. The damage to the vehicle's owner amounted to about 500,000 tenge.
Following a statement from the vehicle owner, police registered the unauthorized use of the car. A criminal case has been opened and an investigation is underway.
In addition, the woman was held administratively liable for driving under the influence. She was fined more than 860,000 tenge.
