A court in the Zharminsky District has sentenced a local man for distributing intimate photos of a female acquaintance, according to the website infohub.kz.
According to the press service, the man found a mobile phone belonging to his former acquaintance. Instead of returning it to the owner, he accessed the device and copied 67 photos showing the victim naked or in underwear. He also read her private messages.
“Motivated by jealousy toward people she was communicating with, the defendant sent the photos to two of the victim's acquaintances without her consent, thereby disclosing information constituting the privacy of her personal life,” the court statement said.
In court, he fully admitted his guilt and expressed remorse. Additionally, the parties reconciled, and the victim stated that she had forgiven the man and asked the court to impose a sentence not involving imprisonment.
The man was found guilty and sentenced to 3 years of suspended imprisonment.
