Large-scale social projects financed by assets returned to the state continue in the Abai region. Total investment exceeds 50 billion tenge, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Abai region prosecutor's office, 26 socially significant projects worth over 50 billion tenge are being implemented.
“One of the most important projects was the construction of a new building for the Center for Special Social Services in Semey. The cost was 2.6 billion tenge. After commissioning, the shortage of places for people with neuropsychiatric diseases was completely eliminated, and the waiting list for special social services was significantly reduced,” the prosecutor's office noted.
Another facility opened in Ayagoz district: an annex for an MRI machine worth 250 million tenge. “Thanks to the new diagnostic complex, residents of several districts gained access to modern high-tech medical care without traveling to other regions,” the agency explained.
A significant contribution to additional education was the construction of the Palace of Schoolchildren in Semey (7.6 billion tenge). The new center can accommodate 1,500 children and offers sports, swimming, robotics, aircraft modeling, IT, and other activities. Authorities are now considering building safe access roads and pedestrian infrastructure to the facility, located near a ring road.
The prosecutor's office emphasized that the construction progress and implementation of other projects are under constant monitoring. The use of returned assets accelerates the development of social infrastructure and improves access to quality medical, educational, and social services for residents of the Abai region.
