In the Akmola region, a scheme to embezzle budget funds allocated for livestock development has been uncovered. The damage to the state exceeds 50 million tenge, reports infohub.kz.
The Department of the Agency for Financial Monitoring for the Akmola region is conducting an investigation into the illegal receipt of subsidies. According to the investigation, the director of the agricultural cooperative "Medina" and the head of the veterinary station in the Shortandy district organized a scheme by entering false information into the information system about the number of cattle.
Specifically, based on false data about the presence of 57 breeding bulls, 9 million tenge was transferred from the budget. Subsequently, an additional 17 million tenge was allocated under the same documents for selection work that was not actually carried out.
Furthermore, in four applications, the number of breeding stock was overstated by 3,000 heads, leading to the unjustified receipt of an additional 27 million tenge in subsidies.
The director of the agricultural cooperative has been placed under house arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
