Several road accidents occurred on the Astana-Temirtau highway due to drivers' loss of attention. The crashes were captured by cameras with artificial intelligence, reports infohub.kz.

According to the official Telegram channel of the national company KazAvtoZhol, the cameras with AI elements recorded several rear-end collisions on the highway. "Judging by the video footage, drivers failed to react to the road situation in time and collided with vehicles ahead with almost no braking. The loss of concentration could have been caused by drowsiness, fatigue, or distraction by a smartphone. The exact circumstances of the accidents are being established by the competent authorities. There were no fatalities as a result of the recorded accidents," KazAvtoZhol said.

The company added that these images show how dangerous a few seconds of inattention can be. At high speed, a car covers dozens of meters in that time, and the driver has almost no chance to avoid a collision.

The national company urged drivers not to use smartphones while driving and not to continue driving if they feel drowsy. "If you feel tired, stop in a safe place and rest," KazAvtoZhol recommends.
