Kazakhstan's Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Askarbek Yertayev, announced new features of the Digital Employment Service at a government meeting, reports infohub.kz.
The main goal of the new model is to transition to proactive employment support. The key principle: it's not the person looking for a job, but the job finding the person. Previously, citizens had to browse vacancies on the portal and visit career centers themselves. Now, the system automatically identifies those in need of employment based on employers' needs. Notifications are sent via the eGov and Enbek.kz mobile apps, as well as SMS from number 1414.
Artificial intelligence selects personalized vacancies both within the region and beyond, including blue-collar jobs. Additionally, citizens are offered opportunities for training, retraining, or participation in relocation programs. Ultimately, each person receives support until they are sustainably employed.
In July, the service was launched in Pavlodar region: 39,000 SMS messages were sent regarding employment, and 962 people found jobs in the region during that period. In September, the service is planned to be introduced in Mangystau region, and by the end of the year, in all 20 regions of the country. A similar service will be available through the Aitu mobile app, where an AI assistant will suggest suitable vacancies and training courses.
By the end of this year, AI is planned to be implemented in five more areas. In the third quarter, AI will be used for assigning or extending the status of oralman (ethnic Kazakh repatriate), issuing referrals for employment support measures, determining the level of loss of professional ability (analyzing medical data and assessing the consequences of injuries), and for assigning pensions – to recognize documents and prevent fraud.
In the fourth quarter, digital models are planned for recognizing scanned work records, generating recommendations for age-based pension payments, and AI-based analysis to identify labor risks in occupational safety and working conditions at enterprises across the country.
