In Ust-Kamenogorsk, a new model of school lessons with comprehensive use of artificial intelligence was presented at the annual August conference of education workers. At an open lesson at School No. 41, held on the initiative of the Education Department of the East Kazakhstan Region, it was shown how AI can accompany the entire learning process. One of the main tools was an AI system for an interactive panel that works as a digital assistant for the teacher. During the lesson, the teacher can display images, diagrams, and other visual materials on the screen, and if necessary, select an additional example or visualize a complex topic differently right during the class. Next, AI helps identify gaps in students' knowledge. An AI scanner recognizes handwritten tests, checks assignments, assigns scores, and generates analytics for the class. The teacher immediately sees which tasks caused the most difficulty and which topics require additional work.
"The AI scanner is an innovative development of our company and one of the world's first solutions that combines the checking of paper-based written work with the capabilities of artificial intelligence," said Andrei Dupik, founder of the educational platform EdooX. After receiving checked work, a student can use a QR code to access a personal AI tutor and additionally review the topics where errors were identified. To explain the material, the system can use videos, infographics, mind maps, 3D visualizations, and virtual laboratories.
At the end of the lesson, another technology allows for assessing the quality of the lesson. The system analyzes the course of the lesson, the activity and engagement of students, the class's reaction to the material, and the dynamics of the lesson. After that, the teacher receives feedback: which stages of the lesson were most effective, where student engagement decreased, and what can be adjusted or strengthened in the next lesson.
"For our school, this is an example of how artificial intelligence can become a real assistant to the teacher and make learning more personalized. We see great potential in this technology for improving the quality of education," noted Dinara Musabaeva, director of School No. 41 in Ust-Kamenogorsk.
As a result, a unified AI system was demonstrated in one lesson: an AI board helps explain and visualize material, an AI scanner checks written work and identifies gaps, an AI tutor provides individual work on mistakes, and a lesson analysis system gives the teacher feedback and recommendations.
