For the first time in Kazakhstan, a robotic dog equipped with artificial intelligence was deployed in the Karaganda region, reports infohub.kz.

The innovative device was used on July 17–18 in Balkhash and Temirtau during holiday events for Metallurgist Day. According to police, more than 115,000 people attended. Over a thousand officers were mobilized to maintain public order, with the robotic dog as the main technological novelty, integrated with the databases of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Thanks to its AI system, the device can recognize faces in real time. During its first patrols, the technology helped locate four individuals: a citizen evading alimony payments, two state debtors, and a previously convicted man who violated a court-imposed curfew. All were subject to legal measures.

During the mass events, police also focused on child safety. In the large crowds, officers found 87 lost children aged 3 to 17. All were quickly returned to their parents.
