Former Zhanaozen akim Aibek Kosuakov, who held the post in 2022–2024, has returned to public service as head of the apparatus of the Mangystau Region akimat, infohub.kz reports.
According to the official Telegram channel of the Mangystau Region akimat, the appointment was made in coordination with the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan by order of regional head Nurdauler Kilybai.
Aibek Kosuakov was born on October 15, 1975, in the village of Ushtagan in the Mangystau district of the Mangystau Region. In 1997, he graduated from Yessenov Aktau University with a degree in oil and gas well drilling, and in 2013 from the Kunayev University of Transport and Law with a degree in economics.
He began his career in 1997 as an operator of the desalting and dehydration unit at the oil and gas production shop of Karazhanbasmunai JSC. In 2001, he worked as a well survey operator in the deep well survey laboratory at the same enterprise.
In 2005–2006, he served as executive director for social development at Zhazyk JSC. In 2007–2020, he was chairman of the collegial executive body of Taushyk Auyl Sharuashylygy LLP.
In 2020–2022, Kosuakov served as akim of Tupkaragan district of the Mangystau Region, and in 2022–2024 as akim of Zhanaozen. From April 22, 2024, until now, he worked as advisor to the director of CaspiyTransKom LLP.
