Ongoing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz threaten Kazakh tourists' vacations in the UAE as Air Astana again suspends flights to Dubai for an extended period, reports infohub.kz.
Until July 21 inclusive, flights from Astana and Almaty to Dubai are still operating. However, from July 21 to August 31, flights will be suspended again.
The airline's press service stated: "Passengers are offered a full refund at the point of purchase, free rebooking for later dates, or rebooking to other international destinations."
Previously, Air Astana had suspended flights to Dubai for two days due to the escalation of the conflict between Iran and the US. Now the airline has decided to avoid the dangerous route for the remainder of the summer tourist season.
Earlier, Inna Rey, president of the Association of Tour Operators of Kazakhstan, told Kursiv LifeStyle that she believes Dubai may lose tourists after the drone attacks.
