The 'Sky of Baiserke – 2026' air festival has opened in the Ili district of the Almaty region. Guests can enjoy flights over the airfield, an exhibition of aircraft, and meetings with pilots, reports infohub.kz.
The event also served as a platform for discussing the development of general aviation in the region. At a press conference held as part of the festival, experts addressed issues of attracting young people to technical professions, fostering an aviation culture, and enhancing the tourism potential of the Almaty region.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Board of JSC "SP "Baiterek", cosmonaut Aydin Aimbetov, head of the "Otan" flying club Yuri Yeltsov, CEO of the Tian Shan Aviation Center Vladimir Antsupov, and President of the Kazakhstan General Aviation Association Omirbek Kenesbayev.
The speakers emphasized that aviation should not be limited to the professional sphere, and it is important to increase children's interest in professions such as pilots, engineers, and technicians. "Seeing aircraft with their own eyes and communicating with professionals, young people can determine their future professional path," they believe.
After the press conference, the main festival program began. Guests witnessed spectacular aircraft flights, an open-air equipment exhibition, and had the opportunity to personally talk with specialists about the specifics of aviation professions.
The organizers note that combining aviation and tourism can boost interest in the region. "In this context, the festival is seen not only as a demonstration of aviation equipment, but also as a platform to present the region's tourist attractions from a new perspective," the statement says.
