Unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in three cities of Kazakhstan on August 15, reports infohub.kz.
According to weather forecasters, adverse weather conditions (NMC) are predicted in Almaty and Atyrau, and at night in Oskemen.
As experts explain, adverse weather conditions occur when calm winds, light breezes, fog, and temperature inversion combine. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can lead to a deterioration in air quality.
Forecasters warn that during such periods, the risk of negative health impacts increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.
The level of air pollution is influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and air temperature.
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near roads and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to have necessary medications on hand. Experts advise limiting outdoor physical activity and, if possible, moving workouts indoors.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a storm warning has been issued for most regions of Kazakhstan for August 15. Forecasters predict thunderstorms, hail, squally winds, dust storms, and extreme heat up to +43°C, according to RSE Kazhydromet.
