A note claiming there was a bomb on board an AJet passenger plane flying from Ankara to Şanlıurfa was discovered, according to Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak, as reported by infohub.kz.
According to the governor, flight No. 4180 departed Ankara at 19:00 local time on October 5 and landed at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport at 20:05. There were 136 passengers and seven crew members on board. After the note was found, authorities immediately took measures to safely disembark the people and inspect the aircraft.
"All measures have been taken for the safe evacuation of the passengers and crew on board," Hasan Şıldak said.
Local media report that passengers and crew members were evacuated, and security specialists are inspecting the aircraft. Available reports so far show no results from the explosives search.
Recall that on September 30, on flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, the first officer attacked the captain and attempted to seize control of the plane. There were more than 170 passengers and crew members on board.
Passengers and crew members managed to subdue the attacker. A reserve pilot on board landed the plane at Tabuk Airport in northwestern Saudi Arabia. The first officer was detained by Saudi authorities and later handed over to the UAE.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that after the flydubai incident, the airline temporarily suspended all flights between Dubai and Israel. The airline said it would resume flights after receiving additional information from the investigation.
