In Atyrau Region, Akbayan Mukangaliyeva, whose ex-husband was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of four people, has spoken for the first time about her life after the tragedy. According to the KTK TV channel, the woman, who lost her parents, brother and sister, still does not know what happened, infohub.kz reports.
Akbayan Mukangaliyeva is now at home, surrounded by close ones. Relatives say she faces a long course of treatment: they are helping her adapt and taking her to rehabilitation, but they are very afraid of her questions about her murdered relatives.
“Specialists told us that she is not yet ready to hear the truth. We are not telling her for now. Even if we told her everything tomorrow, what condition would she be in? What if we hurt her again? So for now we wait. We want her to get back on her feet,” said relative Asila Mukangaliyeva.
Akbayan herself clearly remembers the names of her five children and their birth dates. She visits them every week. Her main goal now is to take the children out of the orphanage where they were placed after the tragedy.
“The youngest one cries. He begs: ‘Take me away.’ The older ones already understand. I see a psychologist twice a week. For now I am not seeing anyone else. My head sometimes hurts, but then it passes,” Akbayan Mukangaliyeva said.
Relatives say that after the difficult birth of her fifth child, the woman underwent surgery and has since forgotten much. Yet Akbayan remembers her former life and recognizes her relatives. She is gradually getting better. Her close ones believe it is especially important now to help her and show her to qualified specialists.
Recall that in January this year, it became known that a family of four had disappeared in Atyrau Region — a man, his wife and their two adult children. First the bodies of the elderly couple were found, and then the bodies of their children were also discovered. The former son-in-law, Sultan Sarsemaliyev, was suspected of the murder. On July 14, he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Later it became known that Akbayan Mukangaliyeva, the daughter and sister of the deceased family members from Zhangeldin village and the ex-wife of the convicted man, had left a psychiatric center.
