In the second round match of the Russian Premier League (RPL) of the 2026/27 season, Grozny's Akhmat suffered a 1:2 defeat at home to Moscow's Spartak, reports infohub.kz.
The match took place at the Akhmat Arena and ended in a comeback victory for the visitors. The hosts opened the scoring through a penalty converted by Angolan winger Egash Kasingtura. However, Spartak then struck back with goals from Cameroonian defender Christopher Vou (39th minute) and Argentine midfielder Ezequiel Barco (90+1st minute).
The decisive goal came when Spartak had a numerical advantage: Akhmat were reduced to ten men after Kasingtura was sent off in the 76th minute.
Kazakhstan national team forward Maksim Samorodov started for the hosts but failed to make an impact and was substituted in the 62nd minute. Another Kazakhstan international, Galymzhan Kenzhebek, was named in Akhmat's squad but did not appear on the pitch.
Akhmat, coached by former Kazakhstan national team boss Stanislav Cherchesov, sit 11th in the table with one point. Spartak, with a maximum six points, are second, trailing only St. Petersburg's Zenit on tiebreakers, where Kazakhstan defender Nuraly Alip plays.
