An akim of a rural district in Akmola Region has been held accountable and the results of a land tender have been annulled following intervention by prosecutors, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the official website of the Akmola Region prosecutor's office, prosecutors in Birzhan sal district protected the rights of Zere Agro Holding LLP, which is implementing a project to build a livestock feeding facility.
The agency said the 600 million tenge investment project provides for the creation of 10 new jobs. In carrying it out, the investor ran into an obstacle already at the stage of obtaining the land plot.
"During prosecutorial monitoring, it was established that when the tender for the provision of the land plot was held, the akim of Ulginsky rural district issued one of the participants a certificate of residence whose information did not correspond to state registration records. On the basis of this certificate, the land commission unjustifiably awarded the participant additional points. This affected the results of the tender and violated the investor's rights," the Akmola Region prosecutor's office said.
The district prosecutor's office took response measures. The akim of Ulginsky rural district was brought to administrative liability under Part 1 of Article 173 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offences for unlawful interference in entrepreneurial activity.
In addition, following consideration of the case, the court annulled the results of the tender.
The issue of providing the land plot to Zere Agro Holding LLP for the implementation of the investment project remains under the control of the district prosecutor's office.
According to the official website of the apparatus of the akim of Ulginsky rural district of Birzhan sal district in Akmola Region, Ryszhan Abzhanova has served as akim of the rural district since 17 October 2022.
