For many families, owning an apartment means the ability to plan for the future, raise children and feel confident about tomorrow. That is why the Akmola Region continues to build apartment blocks and purchase ready-made housing for local residents. The work is under way both in Kokshetau and in the region's districts, infohub.kz reports.

According to the Akmola Region Department of Construction, Architecture and Urban Planning, nine apartment blocks with 290 flats have already been completed in the region this year. Another four blocks are scheduled for commissioning before the end of the year. The new housing will appear in Zharkain, Esil and Yereimentau districts, as well as in Birzhan Sal district. For residents, this offers additional opportunities to resolve their housing issues and stay to live and work in their home region.

In total, 20 apartment blocks with 814 flats are currently under construction in the region. Some of the facilities will be completed this year, while the rest are planned for commissioning next year. Construction is under way, among other places, in Tselinograd district, Kokshetau and Yereimentau district.

Another way to provide residents with housing is buying ready-made flats. "The region has allocated funding to purchase 1,067 flats, some of which will be rental and some credit-based. To date, 400 rental flats have already been purchased in Arshaly, Burabay, Shortandy, Bulandy and Zharkain districts. Several dozen more flats are going through tender procedures," said Azamat Baikuanyshev, acting head of the relevant department.

Additional housing will also become available after the completion of the blocks under construction. Flats are expected to be received soon in Astrakhan, Akkol, Korgalzhyn and Atbasar districts, as well as in Kokshetau. Construction of credit housing continues in the regional centre.

Overall, 378,500 square metres have been commissioned in the first nine months. Work will continue until the end of the year to increase the supply on the housing market and ensure the further development of the region's settlements.
