A woman in Akmola Region paid 120,000 tenge for sauna complex services but was ultimately unable to use them because her children fell ill — she was eventually refunded the full amount, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the official website of the Committee for Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the consumer paid 120,000 tenge for sauna complex services on August 5, 2026. The visit was initially planned for August 21, 2026.

Because her children were ill, the consumer notified the service provider in advance that she would be unable to use the service. By agreement between the parties, the booking was moved to August 28, 2026.

However, the children's illness continued, and the consumer again informed the provider that she could not visit the complex. According to information provided by the consumer, the provider continued to confirm that the booking could be rescheduled and said the reservation remained open, with the prepayment retained.

In September 2026, the consumer decided to cancel the service for good and demanded that the provider return the 120,000 tenge she had paid. Her request for a refund was refused.

The consumer then turned for assistance to the Department of Trade and Consumer Protection for Akmola Region. Specialists carried out outreach work and explained to the consumer the requirements of the Republic of Kazakhstan's legislation on consumer protection.

As a result of this work, the matter was resolved favorably — the consumer was refunded the full amount of 120,000 tenge.
