A new post of the volunteer fire formation "Auyl Qutqarushylary" has begun operating in the village of Qanai-Bi in the Akmola Region, refurbished and launched with support from a local limited liability partnership. The project will improve fire safety and cut the time it takes rescuers to reach an emergency scene, the website infohub.kz reports.
The new unit is located 39 kilometers from the nearest fire station. It will provide fire protection for four settlements with a combined population of 596 people.
To respond quickly to emergencies, the post is equipped with a special vehicle. The team is now fully staffed and supplied with the necessary firefighting equipment.
The opening is being described as an important step in ensuring the safety of residents in remote areas. Having trained specialists and equipment on hand will make it possible to extinguish fires promptly and carry out preventive work.
In total, Kazakhstan now has 271 such volunteer fire formations.
