A court in the Mangystau Region has handed down a verdict in a criminal case involving a shooting at a bar in Aktau, where a conflict between patrons ended with a person being wounded, infohub.kz reports.

According to Lada.kz, citing the Mangystau Region Prosecutor's Office, the defendant received a real prison term for the shooting at an establishment located in the 7A microdistrict.

"By the court's verdict, the man was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan — 'Hooliganism' — and was sentenced to five years' imprisonment," the publication quotes the prosecutor's office as saying.

It was previously reported that at an establishment in Aktau, a man was shot directly in the face with a "Hunter Signal" starting pistol, causing injuries. The incident was captured on video. Police opened a criminal case on charges of hooliganism.

In late August, it became known that the investigation had been completed: the criminal case under Part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan (hooliganism with the use of firearms) was sent to court. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment of five to seven years.
