Aktau has concluded an investigation launched after a child was photographed sleeping in the stairwell of a residential building, the website infohub.kz reports.

Earlier, the regional outlet Lada.kz reported that a child had been captured on camera sleeping in the entrance hall of an apartment building in Aktau. Nesibeli Kuatova, head of the Mangystau Region Department for the Protection of Children's Rights, responded to the situation.

At the time, the child's parents explained to department staff that the boy had been waiting for a friend in the stairwell and fell asleep on the second floor. A woman passing by noticed the 14-year-old and covered him with a blanket.

According to the regional outlet, specialists from the children's rights department and the Psychological Support Center subsequently visited the minor's family and examined the situation.

The investigation found that the child is currently in good condition. He was provided with psychological support, and the necessary explanatory work was carried out with his mother.

"At present, constant communication has been established between the responsible specialists and the family, and the child's situation is under control. Work to support the minor's psychological state and ensure his safety continues," the department said.
