In Aktau, an entrepreneur was fined after giving away free ice cream and yogurts to children to celebrate the opening of his retail outlet, reports the website infohub.kz.
The incident occurred on August 1 in the 14th microdistrict. The entrepreneur distributed 50 portions of ice cream and 30 yogurts. Following the event, the owner was brought to administrative responsibility and fined 20 MCI, which amounts to 86,500 tenge.
The city akimat noted that they do not object to such initiatives but emphasized the need to comply with the law. "We do not object to entrepreneurs' initiatives in this direction. However, free distribution of products must be carried out in compliance with the requirements of current legislation," the akimat stated.
The authorities explained that prior to holding such events, permission must be obtained from the local executive body. "Before organizing such events, it is necessary to obtain the appropriate permission from the local executive body, and also consider other safe and legal ways to delight children. Mass gatherings during such actions can lead to various undesirable situations," the akimat added.
The publication also reminded that similar events have previously led to stampedes. For instance, on June 1 last year, a free giveaway of ice cream and cotton candy caused a crush in the Tolkyn-1 microdistrict of Aktau.
Earlier it was reported that a businessman in Aktau was fined for giving away flowers without the akimat's permission during a mass event.
