Two suspects in the illegal trafficking of synthetic drugs have been detained in Aktau during a special operation that was captured on video, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the police department of the Mangystau Region, on October 2, regional police officers together with representatives of other law enforcement agencies disrupted an illegal drug trafficking operation.
In the 32nd microdistrict of Aktau, two men were detained on suspicion of trafficking synthetic drugs on an especially large scale.
During a personal search and investigative measures at their temporary residence, numerous packages containing a synthetic substance, electronic scales, packaging materials and other items relevant to the investigation were discovered and seized.
In addition, while inspecting the territory of several microdistricts of the city, police officers found stashes containing a similar substance.
In total, 41 packages of a synthetic narcotic substance with a combined weight of about 200 grams were seized.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the matter under Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility.
A set of investigative measures is currently being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
