In Aktau, a resident from the orphanage category has expressed outrage after receiving an apartment in bare-bones condition. The city administration has responded to the complaint, reports infohub.kz.

Alevtina Medvedeva told the publication that she had waited about 13 years for her apartment and received it this summer. However, the actual condition of the housing differed from expectations. She said the apartment lacks finished walls and floors, interior doors, and has incomplete construction and electrical work.

"I did not sign the acceptance certificate. I contacted the city housing department; they are aware of the problem and promised to complete repairs by August 24," Alevtina said.

Only a few days remain until the deadline, but according to her, no one has started repairs. She plans to file an official complaint with the housing department and requests a commission inspection of the apartment, as well as documents specifying the condition in which the housing should have been handed over.

The Aktau city administration said the apartment was purchased in 2024.

"With budget funds, 500 apartments were purchased for socially vulnerable citizens of Aktau registered as needing housing. The purchase was carried out in accordance with public procurement procedures by concluding contracts with various construction organizations," the administration explained.

According to the administration, repair work is underway in the apartment, with an estimated completion time of 30 days. They assured that the situation is under control.

The publication adds that the issue of the apartment's condition should be resolved after repairs are completed and a corresponding inspection is conducted. The resident, in turn, intends to obtain documentary confirmation of the requirements the apartment must meet upon transfer.
