Two men suffered severe burns while transferring gasoline in the Aktobe Region, and information about their health condition has now become known, reports infohub.kz.
One of the victims, a 23-year-old man, was airlifted from the district to a hospital in Aktobe. Currently, the question of transporting the second victim — a 46-year-old worker with burns to 80% of his body — is being decided. He is now in the intensive care unit of the Shalkar District Hospital, and the father of two daughters remains conscious. Doctors assess his condition as serious and also plan to transport him to Aktobe by air ambulance.
"Yesterday, one of the victims, who has burns to 40% of his body, was placed in the intensive care unit, and he is there now. His condition is serious but stable. The second patient with burns to 80% of his body is still in the district hospital, and consultation is being conducted via Zoom. Today we will also send an air ambulance to him; if his condition stabilizes, he will also be taken to Aktobe," said Nurlan Abishev, a combustiologist at the Aktobe Emergency Medical Care Hospital.
Relatives of the victim are demanding a fair investigation into this case. A specially created commission, which includes state labor inspectors and heads of the enterprise where the victims worked, must investigate the circumstances of the incident.
It was previously reported that two workers suffered severe burns while transferring gasoline in the Aktobe Region.
