A resident of Aktobe Region who was previously stripped of his driving rights for seven years for drunk driving has been detained by police again for the same offense, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' website, police officers patrolling the Zhana Konys residential area in Aktobe stopped a VAZ car.
"The driver's behavior aroused the officers' suspicion. A breath test confirmed that the man was intoxicated. A check revealed that in 2019 the driver had already been held accountable for drunk driving and was banned from driving for 7 years," police said.
The car was placed on a specialized impound lot, and the driver was taken into temporary detention.
"For repeat drunk driving, the man faces criminal liability, including up to five years in prison and a lifetime driving ban," law enforcement added.
