The Aktobe Regional Multidisciplinary Hospital continues to expand its range of specialized care. Following rheumatology, gastroenterology and nephrology departments have now begun operations, reports infohub.kz.
According to the clinic's head, Kairat Zhetibaev, the phased renovation has already increased the volume of inpatient treatment by 5.5%. The introduction of new profiles will significantly improve the accessibility of emergency and planned therapeutic care for residents of the region.
“These departments will help patients with gastrointestinal and kidney diseases receive modern diagnostics, treatment, and professional follow-up,” the regional administration said in a statement.
As part of the modernization, the hospital has renovated wards, created comfortable conditions for patients, and purchased the necessary equipment. It is worth recalling that in January of this year, a rheumatology department with 16 beds was opened at the hospital. In addition, the medical organization operates a telemedicine center and has implemented a PACS system for centralizing radiological studies.
“The opening of new departments increases the accessibility of medical care and expands diagnostic and treatment capabilities,” Zhetibaev noted. According to him, the renovation program plans further phased updates to the hospital's medical infrastructure.
Earlier it was reported that as part of the healthcare modernization in the republic, 191 projects totaling 176.8 billion tenge were approved using returned assets. The Ministry of Health also reported that under the modernization program, 655 planned primary healthcare facilities were built in the country by the end of last year.
