In Aktobe, a company director has been convicted of illegally processing hazardous oil waste, with 393 million tenge in proceeds ordered confiscated to the state, infohub.kz reports.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office's official Telegram channel, the environmental prosecutor's office of Aktobe Region shut down the illegal operations of ZhAN-AMI i K LLP.
"An inspection established that in 2024-2025, the company processed more than 1,400 tonnes of hazardous oil waste without the required state license. As a result of its illegal activity, the partnership earned 393 million tenge," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Based on the supervisory authority's materials, a pre-trial investigation was opened and conducted by the Department of Economic Investigations.
On August 17 of this year, by a ruling of Aktobe Court No. 2, the company director was found guilty of a criminal offense under Part 2, Clause 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Illegal Entrepreneurship). The court sentenced him to 2 years and 6 months of restricted freedom with confiscation of property.
Under the Amnesty Law, the convicted man was released from the main sentence. However, 393 million tenge in illegally obtained income was ordered confiscated to the state.
The court's ruling was upheld by the appellate instance and has entered into force.
