Members of the Ministry of Defense disinfected 403 hectares of flooded territory in the Aktobe region, according to infohub.kz.
At a briefing at the Central Communications Service, Askar Sharip, a representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), announced new data on the flood situation. "In Atyrau, Inder, Makhambet, Isatai, and Kurmangazy districts, over 500 km of dams have been erected. In Kulsary, more than 207,000 cubic meters of water have been pumped from flooded areas using mobile pumping stations and motor pumps. Across the country, 38,521 people have returned to their homes. 6,726 people remain in evacuation points," the Kazinform correspondent quoted the speaker as saying.
He added that since the start of the flood, over 12.9 million cubic meters of meltwater have been pumped, 7 million sandbags and 1.5 million tons of inert material have been deployed.
In total, more than 20,000 people and 2,772 pieces of equipment, 335 water pumping devices, 249 watercraft, and 7 aircraft have been involved in rescue and flood control operations.
In the Atyrau region, monitoring of the water level in the Zhaiyk (Ural) River continues using drones. Bank strengthening works are underway.
Due to the completion of assigned tasks, some forces and assets of the Ministry of Defense from Almaty and Karaganda region, previously deployed to West Kazakhstan and North Kazakhstan regions, are returning to their permanent stations.
