A vacation on Lake Alakol nearly turned into an emergency for two men whose jet ski broke down during a ride. Thanks to the quick response of Emergency Situations Ministry (MES) rescuers, the vacationers were safely brought to shore, reports infohub.kz.
The incident occurred during a patrol of the lake's waters near the village of Koktuma in the Alakol district of the Zhetysu region. Rescuers spotted the men who were in trouble due to a technical malfunction of the jet ski.
The MES press service stated: "During a patrol of the lake's waters near the village of Koktuma in the Alakol district, MES employees assisted two men whose jet ski had a technical malfunction during their outing."
The rescuers promptly delivered the vacationers to a safe location, provided necessary assistance, and arranged for the transport of the broken jet ski. This is stated in the official report of the ministry.
Medical assistance was not required for the men.
The MES reminded about the importance of following water safety rules: "Before heading out on the water, check the technical condition of your watercraft and follow water safety rules," the ministry urged.
