Former comedian Alexey Reva, known for winning the comedy show "Make the Comedian Laugh," has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine. The military department announced the personnel decision on its Telegram channel, according to NUR.KZ, citing RIA Novosti, as reported by infohub.kz.
"We continue to strengthen the Ministry of Defense team. The government has appointed Major Alexey Reva as Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization," the department's statement said.
In his new role, Reva will oversee the development of digital systems and services for the defense forces, as well as the introduction of technologies designed to simplify processes in the army and help service members carry out their assigned tasks.
According to the publication, Alexey Reva won the show "Make the Comedian Laugh" in 2015. He later worked as an actor and screenwriter for the comedy studio "Mamahohotala." After the conflict with Russia began, Reva and his twin brother joined the Territorial Recruitment Center, and later he worked in the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine and the IT sector of the Ministry of Defense, where he was involved in creating software for registering military conscripts.
