Alima Kairat, artistic director of the Tselinny Center for Contemporary Culture, intends to structure the institution's work so that it does not depend on the Boranbayev family. She spoke about this at the Be Woman forum, according to infohub.kz.

According to her, the center was not originally conceived as a family project. However, since the start of the reconstruction of the former Tselinny cinema, she and her father worked on it together: he handled all technical matters, while Alima took charge of development strategy and shaping the mission of the creative space.

"It is important to build sustainable operations where the institution can exist without us — without me and Kairat Sovetayevich. This is my personal next step," noted the artistic director of Tselinny.

She considers new opportunities for Kazakh artists to be the main result after a year of the center's operation.

"The financial part cannot be measured. But if we look at how many organizations have opened, how many new artists have emerged, how many opportunities they have found to travel and participate in international projects — that is probably the result of the work," said Alima.

Recall that Kairat Boranbayev purchased the former Soviet-era Tselinny cinema in 2015. In 2018, a project for its reconstruction into an exhibition space was ready, but the opening took place only in 2025.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle showed what Tselinny looked like right after its opening.
