In the fifth round match of the Russian Premier League (RPL) of the 2026/27 season, Moscow's Spartak defeated Saint Petersburg's Zenit 2:0 on their home turf, reports infohub.kz.
The match took place at the Lukoil Arena in Moscow. Already on the 13th minute, Zenit's Colombian midfielder Wilmar Barrios deflected the ball into his own net, and on the 39th minute, Spartak's Russian midfielder Roman Zobnin doubled the hosts' lead.
In the closing stages, the visitors were reduced to ten men: on the 88th minute, Russian forward Maxim Glushenkov was sent off for two yellow cards.
Kazakhstan national team defender Nuraly Alip started the match on the bench but came on as a substitute in the 57th minute. During his time on the pitch, he received no disciplinary sanctions and completed 26 passes, 23 of which were accurate.
With this victory, Spartak earned 12 points and moved up to second place in the standings, trailing only Krasnodar, who have a maximum 15 points. CSKA Moscow (11) round out the top three. Zenit, with nine points, sit in fourth place.
