Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev has signed an order appointing a deputy head of the presidential administration. Almas Isakov, who previously headed the administration's staff, has taken the post, infohub.kz reports.
"By order of the head of state, Isakov Almas Serikovich has been appointed deputy head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the Aqorda said.
Almas Isakov was born on May 25, 1985. He graduated from the T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University and the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, studying under the Bolashak program.
He began his career in 2009 at the customs control department in Astana. He then spent two years at the tax department in Almaty. From 2012 to 2014, he held positions as an expert and chief expert at the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development and Budget Planning.
Isakov later moved to the Ministry of National Economy. There he headed the tax policy division and then became deputy director of the department for state support of entrepreneurship.
In 2019, Isakov worked in the Prime Minister's Office. He then spent two years heading the strategy department at the Ministry of Trade and Integration. From February 2021 to January 2023, he was in charge of the financial markets sector at the Presidential Administration.
Isakov then headed the staff of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition. Before his current appointment, he headed the staff of the Presidential Administration.
Earlier, Qasym-Jomart Toqaev appointed a new deputy foreign minister of Kazakhstan.
