A resident of Almaty's Almagul district has voiced outrage over the quality of the hot water supply, saying it remained cloudy even after being run for half an hour and left a hard-to-scrub residue on surfaces, the website infohub.kz reports.
User @vital4eg criticized the quality of hot water in one of Almaty's districts on the social network Threads. According to the user, the water stays cloudy even after being run for a long time, and a residue that is difficult to wash off forms on surfaces.
"We ran the water for half an hour. How is this even possible??? They raise the tariffs, but the water quality goes down instead? Outrageous!!! The water is dirty, and even after you run a ton of water through your meter, it is still cloudy and leaves a residue that can't be washed off!!! It ruins the enamel!" the author of the post wrote, addressing the Almaty akimat.
The user demanded that the problem be resolved and warned that otherwise residents of the entire district would start filing complaints en masse through the e-Otinish service.
In the comments, representatives of Almaty Heating Networks explained what could be causing the deterioration in hot water quality.
"The temporary deterioration in hot water quality is caused by the shutdown and restart of the coolant supply from the source. At the same time, a sludge trap (coarse filter) must be installed at the building's elevator unit. The KSK/OSI must check the sludge trap and flush the building's internal system," the statement said.
