Residents of Almaty are facing a shortage of auto gas at filling stations across the metropolis. Drivers complain that the blue fuel has been unavailable at some stations for several days in a row, reports infohub.kz.
The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan stated that fuel is being shipped to the region without delays. For August, about 6,500 tonnes were allocated for Almaty, with an additional 1,500 tonnes provided. However, the distribution of fuel within the city is under the purview of local authorities.
The city administration explained that the temporary restrictions at some gas stations are due to untimely shipments by supplier plants and, consequently, delays in railway deliveries. These disruptions are short-term.
"Within approximately two to three days, the market will be fully saturated, after which there should be no more disruptions across the city," commented Zhanibek Shaidikerim, acting head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Investment of Almaty.
