A dispute between former partners in Almaty has landed both of them at a police station: a young woman in the city said her ex-boyfriend threatened to publish her private photos online, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the Almaty Police Department, a video posted on the department's Instagram account describes an alleged blackmail attempt after a breakup that nearly escalated into a serious confrontation.
"We were serious about each other. And after we broke up, I felt really bad," the young man says in the recording.
According to the police department, a young woman from Almaty filed a complaint with police. She said her ex-boyfriend was threatening to spread her private photos online.
"Officers from the Almaly district police arrived at the scene. It was established that a conflict had occurred between the young people. Both parties were taken to the Almaly district police department for a thorough investigation," the statement says.
According to police, other circumstances of the incident are still being established, and appropriate measures will be taken based on the results of the investigation.
