Two popular Kazakh bloggers have been held administratively liable for obscene language on social media. Ibraim Stambekov, 25, and Abai Abdykhanov, 21, were identified by police through social networks and placed under administrative arrest for petty hooliganism, reports infohub.kz.
According to the police department of Almaty's Nauryzbai district, while monitoring social networks, law enforcement officers found a video in which two young men used gross obscene language and offensive expressions. The authors presented the content as humor.
"By a court decision, they were found guilty and subjected to administrative arrest for 5 days each," police said.
Law enforcement officials reminded that public use of obscene language and insults on the internet entails liability under the law. The "humor" format does not exempt from responsibility for the content of published material.
One of the offenders is a blogger with the Instagram handle ibra.tayken, who has 413,000 followers. The other owns the account aaabdx with 111,000 followers. The young men produce comedy content both together and separately.
