Glass from a bus shelter fell on a woman waiting for a bus in Almaty. The incident occurred at the stop on Makataeva (Nazarbaeva) Street, the website infohub.kz reports.
A city resident named Aiym posted about the incident on her Threads page and attached photos from the scene. The images show shattered glass next to the shelter, as well as a jacket torn in several places.
"Today in Almaty, at the Makataeva (Nazarbaeva) stop, I was sitting and waiting for the bus! Out of nowhere, glass from the shelter came crashing down on me! At least I was wearing a jacket. Who is responsible for this chaos? Is it really impossible to properly secure the glass at bus stops? This is a place where large numbers of people gather! What if a small child had been there?" the author of the post said angrily.
The Almaly district akimat responded to the post. In the agency's reply, it was stated that specialists had contacted the investor company RTS.
"We contacted the investor company RTS. According to the company, the damaged glass of the bus shelter will be replaced by tomorrow. Specialists on site will also check for possible causes of the damage. A photo report will be provided once the work is completed. The execution is under control," the response said.
It is worth noting that, after this response, some Threads users accused the akimat of lacking empathy for the author, since the message contained no apology and no questions about her well-being.
