In a single night, police in Almaty identified more than 35 minors who were out on the streets after dark without their legal guardians, according to infohub.kz.
The Almaty Police Department said on its Instagram account that the raid took place in the Medeu district of the city. During the check, it was found that more than 35 children had been left without adult supervision until late at night.
"Administrative measures have been taken against the parents of all the teenagers identified. Responsibility for the safety of minors lies primarily with adults," the police warned Kazakhstanis.
The department also noted that since the beginning of the year, 1,796 children have been brought to the Medeu district police station after being found outside their homes at night without their parents or other legal guardians.
"Police are continuing nighttime operations across the city. Their goal is to identify minors left unsupervised, prevent possible offenses, and avoid situations in which children could become victims of crime," the Almaty Police Department said.
