Almaty's City Day celebrations reached their climax at Astana Square, where the large-scale Almaty Vibes music festival and a multimedia 3D Mapping Show took place, according to infohub.kz.
The concert lineup featured popular Kazakhstani artists, including Maqpal Zhunisova, Miras Zhuginisov, KALIFARNIYA, ALPHA, Aidana Medenova, Zhandos Karzhaubay, Toregali Toreali, the band "Alash uly" and other performers.
Several thousand spectators gathered at Astana Square to celebrate the holiday together. Guests sang along enthusiastically with the artists, danced and warmly welcomed the performances by Kazakhstani stars. Songs dedicated to Almaty, its atmosphere and its favorite spots drew a particularly strong response from the audience.
One of the highlights of the evening was the 3D Mapping Show — a multimedia presentation that combined the history of Almaty's development, its landmark architectural sites and modern digital technology.
The facade of KBTU facing Astana Square was transformed into a massive screen. Through light and visual effects, the story of the city unfolded across it, allowing viewers to see familiar Almaty in an unusual digital format.
Almaty resident Aigerim Makhmetova, who came to the festival with her 10-year-old daughter Medina, shared her impressions of the festive program.
"Today there are beautiful celebrations in the squares, and the performances by Kazakhstani stars at the festival bring so much joy and positive emotion. The multimedia show presented the history and architecture of our Almaty in a very colorful and original way. I wish all Almaty residents would always preserve this atmosphere — supporting each other and developing our beloved city together," said Aigerim Makhmetova.
Recall that festive events dedicated to City Day, traditionally celebrated on the third Sunday of September, are taking place in Almaty. Concerts, festivals, performances and other events for residents and guests of the metropolis are being held at various city venues.
