Temporary traffic restrictions are being introduced in central Almaty due to City Day celebrations. Traffic will be altered on several streets, the city administration said, according to infohub.kz.
Sections of Tole Bi and Kazybek Bi streets from Abylai Khan Avenue to Nazarbayev Avenue will be closed from 3:00 p.m. on September 17 until 3:00 a.m. on September 21.
In addition, the section of Tole Bi Street from Nazarbayev Avenue to Abylai Khan Avenue will be fully closed from 10:00 p.m. on September 17 until midnight on September 21.
During this period, the routes of ten bus lines will be temporarily changed: Nos. 16, 37, 48, 126, 201, 205, 206, 209, 210, and 224.
"Routes Nos. 37, 48, 201, 206, 209, 210, and 224 in the eastern direction will run via Abylai Khan Avenue, Kabanbai Batyr and Nazarbayev Avenue, and in the western direction via Nazarbayev Avenue, Bogenbai Batyr and Abylai Khan Avenue. Routes Nos. 16, 126, and 205 will also temporarily change their routes, bypassing the closed section via Gogol, Kaldayakov, Zheltoksan, Nauryzbai Batyr streets and adjacent highways," the statement said.
Residents and visitors are asked to take the temporary restrictions into account and plan their trips in advance.
