Almaty has tightened control over the construction industry. Following inspections, four construction companies have had their licenses revoked, and the licenses of 350 organizations have been temporarily suspended, according to the website infohub.kz.

The Almaty city administration reported that control in the construction sector has been strengthened on the orders of the city's mayor, Darkhan Satybaldy. Particular attention was paid to companies involved in the design and construction of social facilities.

"As a result of control measures, four construction companies have been stripped of their licenses, and the licenses of another 350 companies have been suspended. Measures have been taken against 437 construction entities," the administration said in a statement.

The state license of the first category for design was revoked from SK BEST Spec Story KZ LLP. Also stripped of licenses were Otau-Kurmet LLP and the subsidiary of KazNIISA JSC. One of the license subtypes of Saulet Kurylys Consulting LLP was annulled.

The administration stressed that only companies capable of meeting established requirements and ensuring construction quality will be allowed to carry out construction projects.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that following 2025, the Astana city administration's LRT construction directorate posted a loss of 62.4 million tenge, nearly five times more than the previous year. The company was responsible for technical support of the project, overseeing the design and construction of the light rail line, and will continue its work until the LRT is put into operation.
