In Almaty, two sets of triplets were born within one month at the city's perinatal center. Both women became mothers of triplets, and for one of them, this pregnancy increased the number of children in the family to four, reports the website infohub.kz.
In mid-August, 27-year-old Almaty resident Moldir Sovetkhanova gave birth to two boys and a girl. It was her second pregnancy. The delivery occurred at 32 weeks via cesarean section. The newborns were named Aikhan, Aibyn, and Aiza. At birth, the babies weighed 1800, 1480, and 1400 grams, respectively.
Doctors managed to stabilize the condition of the triplets. After treatment in the intensive care unit, the babies were transferred to the high-dependency unit for newborns, where they continue to receive monitoring and care. At home, the babies are awaited by their father Alibek and their four-year-old older brother Aikyn.
The second set of triplets was born on August 31 to Rakhat Bigeldiyeva. The children also arrived at 32 weeks. The family welcomed two girls and one boy, named Akhmet, Khalima, and Amina. The boy weighed 1998 grams at birth, while the girls weighed 1412 and 1347 grams.
Currently, the newborns are in the intensive care unit receiving non-invasive respiratory support. All the triplets need to grow stronger and gain weight before they can be discharged home.
Since the beginning of the year, the perinatal center has seen four sets of triplets. The first two were born in January and February. Earlier, it was reported that doctors at the perinatal center in Almaty had cared for triplets born in serious condition at 35 weeks of pregnancy.
