The "Dvoryanskoye Sobraniye" dog shelter has announced that all animals from the territory of the "Tvardovsky Dom" shelter have been removed from the steppe — shortly before this, the shelter's founder was killed, reports infohub.kz.

"Guys, we did it! We removed all the dogs remaining on the territory of Volodya Teplyakov's shelter," the animal rights activists said.

According to the activists, the dogs are now in a temporary area where they are safe and receiving food and care.

"This required enormous physical, emotional and financial effort. In recent days, many of us barely slept, loading dogs and kennels, finding transport, people and places to accommodate them. But we managed," the shelter said.

The animal rights activists reported that ahead lie counting the animals, vaccination, spaying/neutering, setting up, feeding and finding homes.

It was previously reported that 90 dogs remained in the steppe near Almaty after the death of their owner — the founder of the animal rescue shelter "Dog House 'Tvardovsky Dom'" Vladimir Teplyakov.

The Almaty Region Police Department disclosed some details of the shelter founder's death. A murder case is under investigation.

It was also reported the other day that the akimat had joined the effort to save the shelter's dogs.
