A serious road accident involving a passenger bus and two trucks — a ZIL and a GAZ — occurred in Almaty. Four people sought medical help as a result of the crash, according to infohub.kz.
The incident took place in the Zhetysu district of the city, the press service of the Almaty Police Department told a NUR.KZ correspondent.
"According to preliminary data, the driver of a Golden Dragon bus, traveling north along Bokeikhanova Street, lost control of the steering while approaching Raiymbek Avenue and collided with a ZIL truck parked on the roadside," the statement said.
The impact pushed the ZIL into a GAZ vehicle in front of it. As a result of the accident, four people sought medical help, including the ZIL driver and bus passengers.
Almaty resident Angelina Stepanova posted on Threads about the bus incident.
"Today my son and I were in an accident at Bokeikhanova — Raiymbek. I don't know who is more to blame. It seemed like the bus didn't make the turn. Such a sharp impact, noise, very scary. We got scared, I hope that girl is okay. She was taken away in an ambulance," the post said.
A video published shows the aftermath of the crash. According to the author, shattered glass flew into the cabin. She said that she and her son were lucky to be in the front part of the bus, but a pregnant girl with two children was injured.
An investigation is underway into the accident. The circumstances and causes of the crash are being established.
