Almaty's First President Park will be temporarily closed to visitors due to renovation works on its territory, reports infohub.kz.

According to the Almaty city administration, the reconstruction of the First President Park is underway. As a result, the park will be completely closed to the public during the construction and installation works.

The renovation plans include updating the engineering and path infrastructure, as well as comprehensive landscaping and greening of the area.

During the reconstruction, residents and guests of the city can visit the nearby Flow Park, which is accessible via a pedestrian bridge connecting the adjacent areas.

The completion date and reopening of the park will be announced later. The city administration has asked citizens to take the temporary restriction into account when planning their walks.

Earlier, it was reported that there are plans to modify the park, including the installation of about 150 CCTV cameras. It was also noted that the park had not been renovated since 2010 and was planned to be closed in stages. Later, it became known whether the monument to Nursultan Nazarbayev would be dismantled during the reconstruction.
