In Almaty, hydraulic tests of heat networks will be conducted from August 3 to 14, prompting authorities to urge residents and visitors to take precautions and immediately leave dangerous areas in case of a rupture, reports infohub.kz.
The city administration (akimat) announced that the second stage of testing will cover seven districts of the city. The tests will be carried out daily from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
During the works, water may surface and road pavement may partially collapse. Therefore, authorities strongly recommend that citizens remain vigilant and avoid approaching potential rupture sites.
"If such situations occur, it is necessary to leave the dangerous area and report it to Almaty Heat Networks LLP or call 109," the akimat noted.
The hydraulic tests are part of preparations for the heating season to check the condition of heat networks and identify sections requiring repair.
It is recalled that the first stage of tests took place from May 12 to 15, 2026. At that time, residents were also asked not to approach potential rupture sites and not to attempt to fix the consequences themselves.
Despite the works, hot water supply for residents in the test zones was not interrupted.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in Stepnogorsk and Kokshetau, worn-out heat networks will be upgraded for 3.9 billion tenge.
