Almaty will begin connecting residential buildings to central heating on October 9, with the heating season starting earlier than usual due to a sharp drop in air temperature. The decision was made by city akim Darhan Satybaldy, as reported by the metropolis's energy and water supply department, according to infohub.kz.
Social facilities—kindergartens, schools, and medical institutions—will be the first to receive heat. After that, heating will begin flowing to residential buildings.
Once heat is supplied, specialists from KSK and OSI will adjust in-building systems: bleeding air from radiators and risers, setting pressure, and ensuring even heating of apartments.
Almaty Heating Networks LLP has fully completed preparations for the winter period. To respond quickly to possible malfunctions, an emergency stock of materials and equipment has been formed. During the 2026–2027 heating season, 16 emergency and repair crews, 220 specialists, and 56 units of equipment will be on duty.
Recall that in Astana, the 2026–2027 heating season officially started on October 2. The corresponding decree was signed by capital akim Zhenis Kassymbek. Before the start of the heating season, specialists from Astana-Teplotransit JSC conducted hydraulic tests of heating networks and eliminated identified defects.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that in Kazakhstan the heating season has already begun in 11 regions. However, in Semey, due to delays in equipment supplies, repairs to heating points dragged on, so heat supply to homes began only on October 5. In this regard, the supervising deputy akim of Abai region will be brought to disciplinary responsibility on the instructions of Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
