Since the start of 2026, police in Almaty have uncovered 430 apartments where intimate services were being provided. The property owners have been held administratively liable, and around 750 women have been placed on preventive registration, reports infohub.kz.
According to KTK TV channel, law enforcement regularly conducts raids at addresses suspected of offering intimate services. They obtain information from classified ad websites with contact numbers and from resident complaints.
During a raid, journalists spoke with a woman working in one such apartment. She said she chose this job because of the flexible schedule, allowing her to balance income with childcare. According to her, her monthly income is about 500,000 tenge.
As KTK notes, many women claim they found the job online and are not acquainted with the business organizers. The service price starts at 55,000 tenge, they say, and in some cases clients are offered installment payments.
Timur Nogaybayev, head of the public security department of the Almaty Police Department, said such inspections are carried out on an ongoing basis. "We are conducting this work on a regular basis. Since the beginning of the year, we have identified about 430 such premises, the owners of which have been brought to administrative responsibility under Article 450, with fines of about 100 monthly calculation indices imposed," Nogaybayev said.
According to police, the owners of the identified apartments have been fined in accordance with administrative law.
